Biography and bibliography Michael has been involved, rather haphazardly, in creative pursuits for the last two decades. His poetry and non-fiction writing has appeared in the following publications: Ed. R. Watts, The Burning Times, Victoria, poetry - All Neal.
Ed. Tony Ayres, Hard, stories about gay men and sex, BlackWattle Ed. Justin Lowe, Homebrew, NSW, ‘Maw of Christ’s Heart’. Ed. Alasdair Foster,‘loitering with intent,a sublime discourse of masculinities, Australian Centre for Photography, essay on Canadian photographer Evergon’s work. University of Sydney Union, Hermes, Vol. 17, Liquid Notes. SBS Radio, Alchemy, performance poetry. As side line pursuits, Michael has dabbled in a variety on creative outlets such as co-founding the Gudrun Stockings Theatre Company (1992 - 95) that staged original works at the La Mama theatre as part of Melbourne Comedy Festival & Melbourne University Drama Festival. He also spent a year or so, co-writing of a feature film and television series, whilst funny at times was very patchy and now sits gathering dust. He has been a writer for the Club Bent Mardi Gras Festival and the Victorian AIDS Council, as well as once belonging to a percussion poetry troupe. He was a producer and director of a gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender = queer, community television program called X-it Way Out TV for two years in Sydney. For a period of time, Michael used to paste poetry around streets in inner city Melbourne in a monthly bulletin called Rants, with his good friend and fellow poet, Steven. He now does other nefarious activities involving text and images and stencils. He lives with his partner of eight years, Cisco and his pooch, Jimmy. Michael is currently completing a Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Technology, Sydney (Australia) and hopes the novel he is writing as part of this process isn’t formulaic and trite.
